Welcome all Bloggers!
I have never photographed flamingos before but last year and for a few days it did not go well, you see flamingos are a lot harder than you think. The main problem is that you can never get them isolated from a group or get a group to look anything more than a mess. Patience always pays though and my break came one morning when the mist hung over the lake long enough for me to get this series of moody shots: It was a surreal scene. As the light came up the photography was much harder so I tried to slow down the motion a litle to add some movements, a hungry hyena did the rest by enthusiastically chasing them into the air! Finally I also managed to get a half interesting group shot as a few males starting displaying to each other. You know what, flamingos are actually fun and they really grew on me as the time went on, I look forward to spending some time with them again.... And just one last thing, we have 2 places left on Gorilla Explorer 2 so let me know if you wanna come!!!
